JTS has recently been recognised by BAFTS as a Fair Trade importer. We are delighted to be part of BAFTS and look forward to a long association with BAFTS members.
Our latest container of Eswatini's delicious products left Durban on 17th June and arrived on 15th July. This is the first of three containers heading our way from Eswatini with the second arriving early September and the last scheduled to arrive in October, so we expect to have a good stock available in July and a full complement of products for the Christmas period. However, if you are running low on your favourite products now, please give our warehouse team a call to reserve your requirements as we have been waiting a while for this consignment and demand is expected to be high.
We are also expecting a new container from Malawi at the end of July with new products including Peanut Butter and the delicious Malawi pan-roasted peanuts, both products from Rab Processors in Malawi. We visited Rabs in 2009 and were impressed with their care for their workers and the producers they source from. They have now formally lodged their membership application for COFTA - the Cooperation for Fair Trade in Africa organisation. COFTA is based in Nairobi and is the Africa Regional Chapter of WFTO. Rab's registration with COFTA will be the first step of a process to become a key part of a Malawi Fair Trade supply chain. We hope you will try these products and so assist Rab Processors in ensuring the producers they source from continue to get a fair price for their produce. We are also working with Rabs to import Malawi pulses for fair trade wholesale catering customers. You can visit the Rab website here or contact us for more information.
