The sugar used to produce these sweets is produced by the Kasinthula Cane Growers Association in Malawi. Through the hard work and perseverance of these farmers, villages such as Kapasule have gained their own water supply of safe, clean water paid for by their Fairtrade premium. Before that, women and children had to carry water each day in containers from a well situated 1.5km from their village.
